The Summer BBQ was held as scheduled in spite of some rain early in the day.

VA1SEA delivered an abundance of scallops which were well received by all. Doggie Bags were the order of the day. Our thanks to Julia (VA1SEA XYL) for her Chef duties on the scallops. VE1IV prepared strawberry and raspberry deserts for everyone using outstanding Fulton Farm berries. Check the Summer BBQ button for some pictures of the fun. The PCARC Summer BBQ will be held on the 16th with rain date 17th - starts at 3pm. The food will be served about 5pm - wind up around 7pm.

VE1IV will be sending a notice out on Monday showing details and the last meeting minutes.

Club meetings are suspended for the summer. Hope to see everyone at the summer BBQ at VE1IV's QTH on the 16th of August.

REMINDER: The RAC Canada contest starts at 00:00 UTC on July 1st and runs until 23:59 on the same date.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 19. It is the last one before the summer break. Remember the Summer BBQ is scheduled for Aug 16th. VE1IV will confirm the date at the next meeting.

The Club Jackets have arrived. The crests and Callsign/Names are being added and the final product will be available at the next Club meeting. Don't forget to bring your $37.71 for the jackets.

The ARRL has announced the dates for Field Day 2008. Click here for the Rules etc and Forms in PDF format..

The Club now has certificates available for any Amateur that is successful in completing QSL contacts with 10 or more club members in 2008. Send your contact log information (date, time and club member contacted) and a QSL card to PCARC Awards, 60 Pleasant Heights, RR#2, Pictou, NS. Your certificate will be mailed within two weeks of the date received. Click here to see a copy of the certificate.

February 2008

This month's meeting will be held on February 21st starting at 7:30PM. VE1JCF will be sharing information from the County Pandemic planning workshop. See the Agenda page for meeting details.

We will also discuss the possibility of operating the Club Station (VE1UW) for the NSARA contest in early March. Check the NSARA website for contest details.

The Truro Amateur Radio Club will be hosting its annual dinner at the King Lam restaurant in Truro on the 16th. Meet and greet starts at 6:00PM followed by dinner at 6:30PM. If you wish to attend please CONFIRM your attendance with any of the TARC Executive or VE1SD prior to the 12th of February.

January 2008

This month's meeting will be held on January 17th at the usual time and location. VE1IV has verified that we are welcome as continuing users of the Stellarite Centre for the foreseeable future.

We will have the draw for the ARRL Handbook and CD at the meeting so bring lots of $$ to buy tickets at $2.00 each or three for $5.00.
